Diagnosing confidently. Reducing risk. Improving outcomes. Elevating clinical judgement.
About Intelligent Orthodontics
After more than two decades working as a Specialist and Consultant Orthodontist across hospital and private practice, I have seen first-hand that the greatest challenges in orthodontics do not lie in appliances or mechanics — they lie in confident diagnosis and safe treatment planning.
Orthodontic diagnosis is complex, nuanced, and traditionally taught at postgraduate level over several years.
Through my work in specialist training, examining, and reviewing referred cases, I frequently encounter situations where treatment difficulties, compromised outcomes, or medico-legal concerns could have been prevented with stronger diagnostic foundations at the outset.
Intelligent Orthodontics has been created to bridge that gap.
To support and encourage the dental community, I have developed exclusive small group courses in London focused purely on clinical and radiographic diagnosis followed by real-world case planning. Limited to 15 clinicians for in-depth discussion, an interactive experience and leading to higher order treatment planning skills.
Orthodontic treatment is increasingly performed within general practice — yet many clinicians feel uncertain when it comes to diagnosis, case selection, and safe treatment planning.
Misdiagnosis can lead to:
Inappropriate case selection
Missed skeletal discrepancies
Compromised outcomes
Increased medico-legal issues
Risk to clinical reputation
Because Orthodontic treatment is only as good as the diagnosis.
-
Unlike traditional CPD courses focused on appliances or aligners, this programme is centred on:
Structured orthodontic diagnosis
Radiographic & cephalometric interpretation
Facial and skeletal assessment
Safe case selection
Evidence-based treatment planning
Clinical decision-making frameworks
This is postgraduate education delivered in a consultant led, high-level learning environment.
-
General dentists providing orthodontics or aligners
Dentists considering offering orthodontic treatment
Clinicians unsure about diagnosis and case selection
Dentists seeking safer and more ethical treatment planning
Practitioners aspiring to specialist-level clinical thinking
No prior orthodontic qualification required — only a desire to improve clinical standards and confidence.
-
After this course you will:
Diagnose orthodontic cases with greater structure and clarity
Interpret radiographs with increased confidence
Identify unsuitable cases before starting treatment
Plan safer, evidence-based orthodontic care
Communicate treatment decisions more confidently
Reduce clinical risk and improve patient outcomes
